Summer evening walkabout

It's been stinkin' hot the past few days and we've kinda had cabin fever.  I picked up a el-cheapo P&S at a yard sale last week for the hefty sum of $3.00 I decided to try it out.

There were some really neat cloud formations going on.

 The sunset was spectacular!
Believe it or not these were all shot using an old 1.3 megapixel Olympus Brio zoom 150!  Enjoy!

Cheers!

Summer in the city

Over the past weekend we headed to New York City to meet up with some friends an take a photo walk around the city.  Met up with a few friends it was organized by friend and fellow photographer Chris Moy.

You can check out his shots here:

On to the pix!

Here's the group.

 Chris at work!
The firing line.  Chris in the background.  I'm not sure who is in the foreground.  He was doing a portrait sitting.
It's always interesting to see other photographers hard at work.

The area we were in was a hot location for wedding shoots.  There was at least five weddings there in the time we were there.
I had a chance to try some macro shots at different areas around the city.

This last one I used my 300 mm zoom for.
I got some interesting shots across the city.  This one was just a from the hip shot of a girl playing in the park.  She was having fum all by herself. Made for a cool shot in my opinion.
Random shots and yes, that is the same sculpture.

The architecture was mind-blowing to say the least.  I couldn't help but to shoot black & white.  Made the shots timeless!
This one I did in a sepia tone to give this pic and 19th century feel.
 Looking down from the High-Line.
 More random shots.

This was a cool shot in Brooklyn.
 More random shots.

Finally got to use my 300 mm zoom!
Chris pointed out this perspective.  I shot it black & white for effect.  If the car wasn't in this shot it would almost have an early 20th century feel to it.

We ended the walk at "Ground Zero".  Even with the construction going on there it is still sobering.
We had a great time I took a ton of pix.  I'll be posting more later.  Enjoy!

Cheers!
